The 98% layout is the one most full-size users actually want. The numpad stays, the function row stays, the footprint tightens. We looked at a lot of keyboards in this format. Most have one dampening layer, basic gasket mounts, and switches that feel fine for the first week.
This one has four dampening layers and a spring-loaded gasket system that changes the typing feel in a way you notice on day one and stop thinking about by day three, because it's just correct. The TTC Flame Red V2 has a return spring that's stiffer than the actuation spring, which is the less common and more satisfying configuration.
